Feminist Disney, I’m Hispanic. My parents strongly identify as White, but neither me nor my older sister do. This actually shocked them; I recall my mother saying she didn’t know how she felt about us involving ourselves in a culture we were not raised in. I suppose it’s a personal decision, but I feel as though they’re trying to shielding themselves by denying being POC so vehemently. (I know this is a different situation than the multiethnic one, but I thought I would share).
