all the disney stories have a really fucked up actual story behind them, dont you find that horribly depressing? kids grow up on these movies when really the true stories are all filled with death, suicide, rape etc. it makes me feel REALLY sad and lose hope a little.
Anonymousyes and no… I think it’s great that the re-done stories DON’T have the worst elements in them? Kids grow up with the versions that don’t have death, suicide, rape etc. in them, and it’s not like they’ll osmosis absorb those themes from the earlier versions existing. And I think that’s good. Since at one point, there were generations of kids who got the earlier fairytale versions. That had all those things. And people even make original stories not based on fairytales these days… so don’t lose hope!
