The Disney Princesses tell it like it is

My question is that if they had included POCs in Brave, wouldn’t they have been portrayed as slaves?

[An unfortunate part of my own heritage, the Scots were really into the slave trade.. But they treated their slaves very well, most of them taking the last name of the family that owned them.. Still really sucky.]

…waaaat?   Did you miss the entire point of this whole image post?   A, they were not always slaves in Europe.   POC have existed in Europe for a long time and not always as slaves.   Google :P

B, again, the entire point of this post is that the movies are not historically accurate, so why is it okay for Rapunzel to have magical hair and a chameleon, for Merida to have a corset that wasn’t popular until centuries later and freedoms she could not have actually enjoyed during that time period, and people turning into bears,

but POC are not allowed to also step out of “historical accuracy”?   Chameleons get the okay, but POC do not??  Why would they have to be slaves???

Sorry I just… I don’t know how else to explain the point of the entire post?

I love how that person lists Google as their source. As if it is the be all, end all of historical research. They didn’t even say that they went to a website. For all we know they went to google, typed in the question and went with what ever answer popped up. Way to do proper research.

I’m not listing a source, I’m telling you to use google to do your own research if you actually care about it and don’t want to keep just believing what you were led to believe by the erroneous visual representation of a bunch of Hollywood films and high school textbooks.  Or pick up a book if you like, google is just normally the easiest thing at someone’s fingertips.   Go try and find any reputable source that says POC were not a part of Europe for a long time.  I’ve already done my research and posted links multiple times before and if you want to keep denying real history in order to prop up the white washed version, that’s your own prerogative and there’s no point in me doing the work for you there since you probably would just argue your way around believing it anyway.   People who want to learn rather than just deny know how to educate themselves.

Go on, find me a person of colour in MEDIEVAL SCOTLAND. There is only so far overzealous political correctness can go...
